Lassithi Valley - Zeus Cave w Grecji
The route known among the connoisseurs of Crete will introduce you to the mountainous landscape of the island and the life of the locals in the mountainous areas. The tour starts with a visit to the Monastery of Our Lady of Kera, which has preserved ancient frescoes. You will be told an unusually interesting story of the miraculous icon of the Mother of God, preserved from Byzantine times.
Then you will go to the picturesque Lassithi Plateau, located in the Dikti Mountains at an altitude of about 800 meters above sea level.
Not so long ago, it was irrigated with the help of several thousand windmills. Today there are very few of them left, but they still adorn the landscape of the plateau with their white sails.
You will also visit a ceramic workshop. You will have the opportunity not only to watch the work of the master, but also to create a product on the potter's wheel with your own hands.
The next stop is at the foot of Mount Dikti. The road leads to the entrance to the cave, in which, according to Greek mythology, Rhea gave birth to Zeus, the father of all gods and people.
After exploring the cave, we will stop in a Cretan village, where those who wish can have a bite to eat and take pictures.
